About me

I'm at @pocketbroto but Broto is just fine! It is pronounced bro·to |ô| and it means sprout in portuguese! 🌱

I'm an older zoomer and I use any pronouns but he/she are preferred!

I was dropped, raised and also currently live in São Paulo, Brazil! We are the largest portuguese-speaking city in the world and also the city with the most japanese, italian and lebanese outside of their country!
I have a love-hate relationship with this city I won't lie lol
I will mention that I'm brazilian every 5 minutes. I'm sorry in advance, but I wouldn't be a real brazilian if I didn't do it. Did I already tell you I'm brazilian?
Appreciator of local cuisine, football enjoyer and internet troll by nature, I would love to interest you in this mashup that the brazilian culture is :D

Despite being brazilian and my mother-tongue being le brazilian portuguese you'll notice that most of my internet presence is in english! I'm currently working on integrating more brazilian into both my streams on this website.
My english is also 100% self taught! Despite having basic english at school I feel like I never really learned anything there and video games were a BIG part of me learning the language. I remember trying to search up how to pass the damn skyward sword puzzles and bosses, not only having to translate the texts but also having to translate the guides because there wasn't anything in portuguese.
A little bit after I also engaged in reading fanfic and now I'm basically fluent in english, do with that information what you wish.

I have a vocational degree in visual communication! Studied a bit of art, photography, graphic design, art history, marketing yada yada.
Currently I work fulltime as a video editor (for vtubers) but my dream is to work as an editor for the film industry!
On my free time I do vtubing (mostly coworking streams for now but I wanna go back to gaming too) and I *dare* to call myself an artist too hehe

MOVIES

I watch pretty much anything that isn't super romance focused (but sometimes those too)
Big fan of psychological horror, B trash horror, sci-fi, dystopian, slice of life (with sad undertones), animation in general, experimental and honestly anything that has that dread feeling.

BTW I never write about movies in english so this might be awkward in the beginning lol

Some movies I really like in no particular order:

Also I AM aware this list is huge, it's going only to get bigger cause I don't pick favourites

Little Miss Sunshine (2006)

Written on 2025 FEB 25

Premise: So, there's this little girl, Olive, who dreams of being Miss and she has a very troubled family. Workaholic father, disturbed mom, nihilist brother who wants to join the airforces, out of the box coo coo grandfather who's helping her rehearse and an uncle who's just out of the psychiatric hospital for trying to commit suicide. The movie is a wild family trip on the way to bring her to the Little Miss Sunshine contest a few states away.

You know when everything is going wrong in your life but all you can do about the stupid ass mess you're in is laugh? This is the exact feeling I have about this film.
I've watched this in a lot of different moments of my life and it never fails to reflect upon myself and I always cry over it. A movie abut family, about grief, about hope, about dreams and about life getting in the way of things. Also about facing challenges with your head up and having a good time on this earth.
I usually don't pick favourites but I'm definitely not afraid of saying that Little Miss Sunshine is one of the best movies I've ever seen.
I first watched this when I was maybe 14?? and it's crazy how much this impacted me and continues to impact me in different ways til today, how this made me change my perspective on the world over and over.

Bacurau (2019)

Ponyo (2008)

O Menino e o Mundo (2013)

Stand By Me (1986)

Written on 2025 FEB 25

Premise: basically, there's a friend group of 5 troubled boys and they find out where the body of a missing boy around their age is. They decide to walk 2 days to go see the dead body. The movie follow this journey.

God. I remember watching this movie when I was on my teen years and liking it but I didn't make that much of it at the time. I recently rewatched it and I couldn't stop sobbing over it. It hit me right in the feelings.
A movie about friendship, growing up, troubled families and honestly childhood wonder but in the darkest way possible.
Seeing those kids, each with their own dysfunctional family, bond together, fight with eachother, make peace and just be stupid boys together somehow hurt me more than I expected. I see myself there a lot of times and it leaves you with that bittersweet taste in your mouth between the tears.
